What you can do with the NHS App

You need to prove who you are to get full access to the NHS App. With full access you can:

• order repeat prescriptions and nominate a pharmacy where you would like to collect them
• view your GP health record to see information like your allergies and medicines (if your GP has given you access to your detailed medical record, you can also see information like test results)
• get your NHS COVID Pass (there are also other ways to get your COVID Pass)
• register your organ donation decision
• choose how the NHS uses your data
• view your NHS number (find out what your NHS number is)
• use NHS 111 online to answer questions and get instant advice or medical help near you

Keeping your data secure

To access the NHS App, you will need to set up an NHS login and prove who you are. Your NHS App then securely connects to information from your GP surgery.

If your device supports fingerprint detection or facial recognition, you can use it to log in to your NHS App each time, instead of using a password and security code.

Getting online can help you improve your fitness, discover healthy recipes, manage your condition and find out local health services in your area.

Learn My Way is a website of free online courses for beginners, helping you develop digital skills to make the most of understanding the online world. There is step by step guides on how to use online services such as sending emails, using the internet, using search engines etc.

As a Veteran Friendly GP Practice we:

• Have a clinical lead for veteran health, who is supported by the whole practice to improve veteran health services.
• Ask patients ‘Have you served in the Armed Forces?’ to help identify veteran patients and code them on our system.
• Support veteran patients to access dedicated health services.
• Undertake regular training and development to meet the health commitments of the Armed Forces Covenant and better understand the needs of veteran patients.

A University of Chester study revealed that the Veteran Friendly Accreditation programme, which is run by the Royal College of General Practitioners in partnership with NHS England, leads to better healthcare. Despite several legal changes in the COVID pandemic regulations this week, face coverings and face masks will continue to be required in health and care settings to comply with infection prevention and control (IPC) and adult social care guidance. This includes hospitals and primary or community care settings, such as GP surgeries. Ellison View Surgery ask that all please follow this advice when visiting the practice.

You are required to wear a face covering on entering these healthcare settings and must keep it on until you leave unless you are exempt or have a reasonable excuse for removing it.

Nearly 1,100 practices are now Veteran Friendly accredited.

Due to clinical staff shortages our online eConsultation service will be unavailable for the next 4 consecutive weekends which will commence from 5:30pm on Friday 12th November.

The online eConsultation service will still be available from 08:00am, Monday to Friday, 5:30pm.
